Wow! Sri Lanka is absolutely beautiful. Pictures will have to come later as we are struggling with our Internet connection, so you'll have to take my word for it.
We landed at 8:30am (local time) and spent most of the day driving through villages to the "hill country". We have been getting accustomed to being part of the minority group over the last couple of days traveling, but today we spent 6 hours driving through villages and didn't see a single white person outside of the airport and Ella (the village we are staying in).
The views really are spectacular though. There is a hammock just outside of my room on the balcony that overlooks the mountains and waterfalls. Also, my brothers will be excited to hear that I spotted a boar just beyond the Terrance about 20 feet. Apparently, monkeys, deer and snakes are also prevalent --although I haven't seen any of those yet.
